Merle was born December 8, 1940 in Peoria, IL to Merle And Lucille (Grebe) Krause Sr. He married Annette Fuqua May 20, 1967 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are their three children, Dirk (Angie) Fuqua of Batavia, IL, Douglas (Ellen) Krause of Waukegan, IL, and Tracy (Ken) Meyer of Northbrook, IL; and eight wonderful grandchildren.
Merle received a Bachelors Degree from the University of Illinois and then his Masters Degree from Bradley University. He worked as a Landscape Architect for the Illinois Department of Transportation for many years before retiring in 1998. After retiring Merle remained busy with his landscaping business and various beautification projects. Merle was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Peoria and City Beautiful Group.
Cremation will be accorded and a memorial service will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, 12, 2022 with visitation starting at 9:30 am until the start of the service at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Peoria. Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton is in charge of arrangements.
