He was born April 13, 1959 in Chicago to James and Dolores (Payne) Finney. They preceded him in death along with one brother, Joseph Klein.
Survivors include one daughter, Laura Ellis of Peoria, one grandson, Caleb Ellis of Peoria, and four brothers: James (Melissa) Finney, Ronald (Marcia) Finney, Thomas Finney, and David (Barbara) Finney, all of Florida.
Michael was a member and enjoyed volunteering at Riverside Community Church.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 11 a.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family through CEFCU.
