He was born June 15, 1938 in Sikeston, MO to Clifford and Pauline (Dollar) Russell. He married Marilyn Barr Dempsey in Springfield, IL on July 31, 1971. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Tony (Molly) Russell, Mitchell (Jackie) Russell; four grandchildren, Jessica (Shawn) Van Deusen, Lacey Hinkle, Mandy and Mickey Cole; three great-grandsons, Connor and Jackson Van Deusen, Keegan Hinkle; and one brother, Clifford Russell. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Michael was a U.S. Air Force Korean War Veteran. He was a member of the Peoria Elks Lodge and the Bartonville American Legion.
Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria with Rev. Ken Terbush officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. this evening at the Chapel. Entombment will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to a charity of donor’s choice.
