

She was born Feb. 17, 1930 in Bartonville to Klaus and Grace (Heuermann) Grafelman. She married Albert Gene Hampton Oct. 1, 1949 in Peoria. He passed away June 23, 2003 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Elena Harken.
Survivors include one daughter, Cindi (Richard) Branch of Bartonville, two sons: Terry (Mindy) Hampton of Washington, Larry (Cathy) Hampton of Bartonville, seven grandchildren: Jason (Lacy) Branch, Kyle Branch, Peter (Emily) Hampton, Ashley Hampton, Courtney Hampton, Tyler Hampton, and Taylor Hampton. She was also survived by two great-grandchildren, Ben and Lilly Hampton, three nieces and one nephew.
Minnie partnered with her husband Gene in establishing and running Hampton’s Kitchen and Appliances from 1977 until their retirement in 1995. She was very athletic and an avid golfer. She was a member of the Monroe School Bowling League for many years, and loved the St. Louis Cardinals, rarely missing a game on television.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bartonville.
Funeral services will be Monday Aug. 8, 2011 at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Bartonville. Rev. Michael Jones will officiate. Visitation will be Monday from 9 a.m. until time of services at 11 at the church. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Burial will be in the church cemetery following the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Peoria Chapter or the American Cancer Society.
