PEORIA - Nancy "James" Jamgochian, 70, of Peoria passed away Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. After a long illness, Nancy's journey here is done and God has called her home. Family and friends will now have a very special angel in heaven who will be watching over them.
Nancy Landis was born May 4, 1943, in Canton, Ill., to Kenneth Landis and Shirley Effland. She married her high school sweetheart, Judex Jamgochian, on July 9, 1961. He survives along with their three children, Judex James Jr. of Surprise, Ariz., Odette Jamgochian of Phoenix, Ariz., and Michelle Jamgochian-Cowles of Peoria, Ill. She is also survived by her half brother, Bob Scott of Pennsylvania; two half sisters, Marsha Verbonitz of Alabama and Tonna Scott of Texas; two sisters-in-law, Jacqueline (Charles) Kohler of Canton, Ill., and Jeannette Parsons of Peoria, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her parents and a brother-in-law, Peter Bardezbanian, preceded her in death.
Nancy was a beautiful, vibrant and thoughtful wife, mother and friend who always put everyone else first. Her main passion and focus in life were her family, friends and cats, Charlie, Molly, Daisy and Dottie. She enjoyed classic movies, going to the movies and estate sales with her friends, antiques and rescuing animals. She was especially proud of her German and Irish heritage. An avid lifelong Republican, animal lover and a Detroit and Michigan fan, Nancy's great laugh, caring nature and ornery sense of humor will greatly be missed by all who were fortunate enough to be touched by her. A golden heart stopped beating. Two smiling eyes at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Nov. 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel, 2021 N. University, Peoria, IL 61604. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to PAWS, 2600 NE Perry, Peoria, IL 61603. - See more at: www.Davison-Fulton.com
