Nancy Jean Wieland

Nancy married Timothy Wieland on March 13, 1960. He preceded her in death in March 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Mark Wieland and an infant daughter, Pamela; her brothers, Steven and Paul Edward; her sister, Luella Kay and daughter-in-law, Loraine.

Nancy is survived by her sons, Terry, Randy, and David; two grandchildren, Randy Wieland Jr. and Rachel Wieland; and two great-granddaughters, Layla and Hayden, whom she adored very much. She is also survived by five sisters and two brothers, as well as many nieces and nephews to whom Nancy was a deeply loving aunt.

In the life Nancy built and cherished, family was always at the center. She lived with her sons Terry and David, she loved her children and would do anything for each one of them. Her greatest enjoyment was simply being with family.

Nancy was especially close with her sister Edie, and their daily phone calls were a faithful rhythm of care and connection. She loved talking on the phone with family and friends, often beginning in her familiar way: “its me.” She also enjoyed shopping trips and garage sales with her sister Kim.

She appreciated the simple things in life—shared meals, familiar places, and time spent with the people who mattered most. She looked forward to family gatherings with her siblings to celebrate birthdays at their favorite restaurant, enjoying breakfast together and the warmth of longstanding bonds.

Nancy treasured the love of the generations around her. Her granddaughters and great granddaughters shared their artwork with their grandma, and one piece held special meaning: Rachel’s drawing of the family home where Nancy and her family lived for over 50 years. Nancy framed it, keeping close a reminder of home.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Swan Lake Memory Gardens. Following the burial a celebration of life will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Pearce Community Center, 610 Cedar Street, Chillicothe concluding at 5:00 p.m.
