Naomi Favus, age 100, lifelong resident of Peoria, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at her residence. Devoted wife of the late Dr. Leonard Favus; beloved mother to Dr. Murray (Barbara) Favus, Lynne (Howard) Neft, Phyllis (Michael) Sadoff; proud grandmother to Abigail Favus, Dr. Elliot (Jennifer) Favus, Jordan Neft, Rachel (Chris) DePalma, Melissa (Benjamin) Oren and Jonathan Sadoff; great grandmother to Maxine, Muriel, Isaac and Levi.
While Naomi was a talented cook, antique collector, gardener, and, in her younger days, enjoyed art and writing, she derived the most joy through her life from the love and closeness of family.
She was remarkably well and serving dinner right up to the very end of her long and happy life. Only a few short weeks ago family and friends gathered to celebrate her milestone birthday.
Naomi is preceded in death by her dear parents Morris and Marie (Rosenak) Tabenkin and brother
Benjamin Tabenkin.
Funeral services will be Wednesday March 9, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel at 2021 N. University St. Peoria, IL. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.
Burial will be in the Peoria Hebrew Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to The Jewish Federation of Peoria or the American Heart Association.
