Norma was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Keith, who passed away in 1997; her parents, John Leonard Greiner and Imogene Barnett Greiner; her sister, Shirley Colvin Stone; her daughter, Carol Lamport; and two nieces, Vera Frye and Joan Dorsey.
She is survived by her son, Mark (Therese) Lamport of Ada, Michigan; and her daughter, Nancy (Rick Lasse) Lamport of Peoria, Illinois; five grandchildren, Rachel (Dan) Baker, Aaron (Michelle) Lamport, Emily (Christopher) Reisert, Amy (Zachary) Grubbs, and Michelle Lamport; ten great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Kay Sutton; eight nieces and nephews; and her older sister, Janet Hicks.
Norma graduated East Peoria High School in 1947 and worked in her father’s shop supply servicing business, then in the Payroll Department at Caterpillar Tractor Company until 1955.
She enjoyed international travel, bowling, crocheting, painting, and word puzzles, and had a joyful sense of humor.
Norma was a longtime member of Tyng Memorial Church, First United Brethren Church, then Woodland Baptist Church, where she served in many ministries and areas of the church.
Norma was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother. Her greatest joy was loving and caring for her family, always putting the needs of others before her own. She was generous with her time and possessions beyond measure. Her faith in Jesus Christ was the source of her strength and at the very center of her life, especially during her increasingly difficult health challenges in the last decade of her life, in which her unflappable motto was “Never give up”.
But her greatest legacy will be the love she poured into her family. All her family has followed in the Christian way she exampled.
Visitation will take place at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home, on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Additional visitation will take place at Woodland Baptist Church, on Monday, September 14, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
