He was born January 17, 1939 in Peoria, the son of Norman and Vera Porter Behrens. He married Alice Beach on April 4, 1959. She preceded him in death on June 6, 2016 in Peoria.
Norman was survived by his children, Lorrey (Bruce) Vonbrethorst of Peoria, Ninette (Curt) LeRoy of Morton, Erika Hoover of Bartonville, and Larry (Wendy Crosby) Behrens of Carlinville; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one niece, Christine, and one nephew, Paul; and one sister, Arlene (Dan) Carr of Ohio.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Kathy Sering.
Norman was a Computer Analyst for Jefferson Bank until his retirement.
He was an Army Veteran.
Norman was a member of Howett Street Christian Church.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to The Alzheimer’s Association or The Dementia Society of America.
