Oskar married Sherry Lynn Clayton on July 27, 1963, in Peoria. She preceded him in death on December 27, 2024. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Hugo and Hilda and his sisters, Gisela Lyons and Hannelore Burr.
Surviving are his children, Eric of Peoria and Nicole of Peoria.
Oskar was a graduate of Bradley University College of Engineering and Technology and went on to become a registered professional engineer. He devoted more than 58 years to full-time work as a design engineer in the telecommunications industries.
In addition to his professional work, Oskar was a licensed instructor in the State of Illinois and taught weekend and evening classes at Illinois Central College for 27 semesters in the College of Engineering and Technology.
Oskar’s life was anchored by what he held closest: his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his wife Sherry, his children Eric and Nicole, airplanes, flying, and the Chicago Bears.
He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m., a short Homily from 1:45 - 2:00 p.m. with a graveside service to immediately follow at Swan Lake Memory Gardens. Reverend John Hopwood will officiate.
