Paul A. Amodeo, 55, of Peoria, IL passed away on September 8, 2021. He was born November 6, 1965 in Freeport, IL to James and Carolyn (Wilhelms) Amodeo. Paul graduated Freeport Senior High School in 1983 and attended Creighton University in Omaha, NE, where he earned a Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from Creighton’s School of Dentistry in 1990. Paul practiced dentistry privately in Northern and Central Illinois for 30 years before moving to a hospital-based General Practice Residency at OSF Health Care in Peoria, IL. In addition, for ten years he provided dental care at the Illinois Veterans Home as the Chief Staff dentist, where he gained experience in hospital and operating room dentistry.
Paul was very active in his professional career serving as a delegate to the Illinois State Dental Society, delegate to the American Dental Association, and committee chair for the ISDS. He was a member of the Peoria District Dental Society serving on the Board of Governors and chaired numerous committees.
His passion for teaching prompted him to provide lectures and presentations to a variety of audiences over his career. He loved instructing and guiding new dental residents at OSF Hospital every year, sharing his knowledge and experience. Personally, he loved being with family, traveling, fishing, biking, and golfing. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by family, friends, work associates, and professional colleagues.
