Phyllis Ann Waechter Tracy

EAST PEORIA - Phyllis Ann Waechter Tracy, age 81, of East Peoria passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Methodist.Phyllis was born in Elmwood, Ill., in 1933 to Henry F. and Ida C. (Wolschlag) Waechter. She married Ray Tracy on Sept. 27, 1964, in Creve Coeur, Ill. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Cynthia Rotramel; an infant son, David Ray Tracy; her brother, Russell Waechter; and three sisters, Alice Fagerburg, Doris Schoenbein and Ruby Bowley.Surviving are her son, Bradley A. (Karen) Gates of Carrollton, Texas; three grandsons, Bradley A. (Emily) Gates II of Austin, Texas, Nicholas R. (Lindsey) Gates of Chicago, Ill., and Troy P. (Valerie Grady) Gates of East Peoria, Ill.; and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister, Faye (Dick) Tobias of San Diego, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.Phyllis retired from bookkeeping at Lincoln Farm Corp in 2002. She was a very talented seamstress and cross-stitch artist. She was well-known for the beautiful quilts she made and gave as gifts to those most important to her.Services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria, with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Eric Johnson will be officiating. Visitation will also be held on today, Dec. 19, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
