

Plummer “Slim” Williams of Peoria Heights IL was born on May 8, 1953, in Inverness MS, to Walter Williams Sr. and Mary V. (Kennedy) Williams. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his beloved family on Friday September 12, 2025.
Plummer moved to Peoria Il in the mid -1960’s and was united in Holy Matrimony to Hattie Mae Jackson on July 22, 1994. He lovely referred to her as “Ms. Lady” a nickname that spoke to his deep affection and respect
Plummer is survived by his devoted wife, Hattie Mae, two brothers, John and James Williams: and four children: Tracey Jarrett, Andre (Juan) Sr., Dawn and Tanika Williams. He is also remembered by his stepchildren: Jenell (George) Alexander, Stanley Howard, and Scott (Angela) Howard. Plummer’s legacy lives on through his 28 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Plummer worked at Bradley University as a custodian for 29 years before retiring. He later continued serving the community as a maintenance worker at Pierson Hills.
Plummer was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears and found joy in fishing and online shopping. Halloween was one of his favorite Holidays, not to mention that he loved a good joke, decorating the house and dressing up. At Christmas he made sure that the house glowed with festive lights. His two beloved dogs, Boss and BJ (Boss Jr), will certainly miss him dearly.
Plummer was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings: Walter Jr, Jimmy Williams, Otha “Albert” Toy Williams, Oscar Williams, and Mary Ann Williams (Griffith).
Plummer’s Celebration of Life be held on Friday September 26, 2025, at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapels. Pastor Steve Humes Eulogist. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 11:00am followed by a service at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Parkview Cemetery.
