Rebecca L. Kempf

She was born on November 26, 1928, in Tennessee to William H. and Tenisie E. (Shepard) Crawford. She married Marvin Dale Kempf Sr. on December 17, 1960, and he preceded her in death on March 6, 2018.

Her parents; four brothers, Raymond Crawford, Herbert Crawford, Wilford "Buck" Crawford and James (Toosie) Crawford; and two sisters, Elizabeth Damron and Betty Jean Bradberry, also preceded her in death.

Rebecca is survived by her eight children, Martha (Earl) Buell of Peoria, Carol (Skip, deceased) Schertz of Peoria, Judy (James) Brown of Forest City, Marvin Dale Kempf Jr. of Pekin, Daniel (Angela) of Creve Coeur and Darryl Kempf, Michael Kempf and Matthew Kempf, all of Yates City; one step-son, Lynn Kempf, also of Yates City; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Rebecca was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, bingo, gardening and flowers and will be remembered as a wonderful cook.

A visitation will be Friday, August 24, 2018, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. A funeral service will be Saturday, August 25, 2018, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Tim Cavallo will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
