Reuben Leroy Cole, Jr., 58, of Peoria, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025 at 5:10 pm at Carle Health - Methodist Hospital in Peoria. He was born on December 11, 1966 in Peoria, a son of Reuben Leroy Cole, Sr. and Wilma Ruth (Watkins) Cole. Reuben married Donna J. Ernst on December 12, 1998 in Peoria. She survives.
He is also survived by his daughter, Marsha Cole of Peoria.
Reuben was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Tina Cole-Wiles; and one infant brother.
He served in the United States Army from 1986 to 1988, then served in the United States Navy from 1988 to 1991.
Reuben was a member of the Limestone American Legion Post #979. He served as a past squadron commander for the Sons of the American Legion Squadron #979. He enjoyed bowling, playing nickels, ten thousand, and board games. Reuben especially loved spending time with his wife and daughter. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs.
Reuben's funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. His visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, March 7, 2025 also at the funeral chapel. Burial will take place in Spring Bay Cemetery with full military honors.
