He was born in Killeen, Texas on June 25, 1950 to Bill and Marnel Roach. He married Sally Downey on June 10, 1972 in Springfield, Missouri. She preceded him in death on March 19, 2007.
Also preceding him in death are his parents, Marnell and Bill Roach.
Surviving are his two children, Rob Roach of Elgin and Sarah Bateman of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; his brother, Ray Roach; and sister, Sharon Hunter.
Duane was a graduate of Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, and received his ordination soon after. Several years later, he earned the title of Doctor of Theology.
Duane served many communities as a minister and teacher, and was instrumental in the founding of multiple churches. He served eight years as head of the theology department of Fellowship Baptist College, and mentored many ministers that still serve around the world today.
His last official post was to serve as minister of College Heights Baptist Church in Farmington, New Mexico, retiring for health reasons in 2007.
Duane continued to serve his community in any way that his physical limitations allowed.
Cremation was entrusted to the Davison-Fulton-Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. The family has arranged a Celebration of Life Service at 10:00 am Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at The Cross Baptist Church, 4201 Edgewater Drive, Pekin, IL 61554.
