Richard E Parkinson

He was born June 25, 1948 in Peoria, a son of Clyde and Shirley Thousands Parkinson, he married Joan Hagan on September 28, 1968. She survives.

Also surviving are two children, Rusty (Jennifer) Parkinson of Farmington, and Dawn Parkinson of Bartonville; five grandchildren, Taylor Parkinson, Lauren Parkinson, Bram Parkinson, Brittany Cook, and Andrew Cook; two sisters, Linda (John) Kennington of Peoria, and Cindy (Bob) McAdams of Bloomington; one brother, Ron Parkinson of Peoria, and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is a U.S. Army veteran.

Rick worked in the Shipping and Receiving Department for Peoria Park District for the past 11 years. He previously worked for Allied Mills in Bartonville.

He was a former member of the American Legion Post 979 in Bartonville.

Cremation rites will be accorded. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
