Ricky Leon McDonald

Rick was born April 6th 1952 in Peoria to Hugh L. and Doris L. McDonald. He married Janet McDonald. She survives along with two sons: Chad McDonald of Metamora, Ricky (Jenny) McDonald of Metamora, grandchildren: Bryton, Brooklyn, Payton, and Parker. He is also survived by one brother, Brion (Deb) McDonald, and one uncle, Ronnie (Vickie) McDonald.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Stephen, one daughter-in-law, Kris and one nephew, Matthew.

After graduating Limestone High School Rick worked for Peoria Journal Star for over 30 years. He started out as a part time weekend 3rd shift newspaper delivery truck driver, and retired as Superintendent of Transportation. Rick loved his wife Janet, two sons, four grandkids, and all of his family. Rick liked to work on cars, fish, and most everyone knows his biggest passion was Dirt track and NASCAR racing. He enjoyed spending Saturday nights at a local dirt track race, and religiously watched NASCAR every Sunday. His favorite NASCAR driver was #9 Bill Elliot and then #9 Chase Elliot!

Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service will be Friday, June 27, 2025 at 10 a.m. in Section D at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
