Peoria – Robert W. Horstman, 88, of Farmington, formerly of Peoria, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at Farmington Country Manor. He was born in Newton, IA on February 22, 1932 to Henry R. and Agnes B. (Wallace) Horstman. He was married to Patricia Sheridan. She passed away in November 2017.
Surviving are his two children, Robert D. (Cherie) Horstman of Dunlap and Lori J. Horstman of Peoria; one granddaughter; two great-granddaughters; and one sister. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters; and three brothers.
Robert was a veteran of the United States Navy, where he was stationed in Hawaii and California. He last worked in heavy maintenance for CILCO for 28 years, retiring in 1991. He previously had worked as a truck driver for Block & Kuhl in Peoria for 10 years. He was of the Protestant faith.
Robert’s graveside service will be private at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of donor’s choice.
