
He was born on March 9, 1926 near Speer, IL, to Emil and Lena (Musselman) Joos. He married Zelma Lorene Rummerfield on July 6, 1946. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Walter and Charles Joos and one great-grandson.
Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Lorene of Peoria, three sons, Robert D. (Rebecca) Joos of Buda, IL; Ronald E. (Christy) Joos of Bloomfield, IA; and Ralph E. (Jenny) Joos of Wyoming, IL. Also surviving are two brothers, Duane (Penny) Joos of West DesMoines, IA and Christian D. (Diane) Joos of Schuarita, AZ, one sister, Margaret Meisinger of Metamora, nineteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
Bob served in the U.S. Army during World War II before being honorably discharged. He was a farmer, for over 55 years in Medina Township and several years in Davis Co, IA as well, before retiring in 2005. He was a member of the Peoria County Farm Bureau and the Peoria Apostolic Christian Church on Sheridan Rd. Bob served as a trustee at the church and taught Sunday school for many years.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 3, 2010 from 3 to 7 pm at the Apostolic Christian Fellowship Hall, 7329 W. Route Us. 150 in Edwards, IL. A funeral will be on Monday, October 4, 2010 at 10:00 am, with visitation from 9:00 to 9:45 am at the Peoria Apostolic Christian Church on Sheridan Rd with the Church Ministers Officiating. Burial will follow at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Princeville. Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
