Robert Lee Wright

Robert Lee Wright, 71, of Peoria, IL, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. Robert was born to Richard and Lula Wright (Davis) on July 31, 1953, in Pontiac, Michigan. Robert was a devoted family man who married his sweetheart, Cathy (McBride) in Peoria, IL, on June 25, 1975.

Robert’s spirit is carried on by his wife, Cathy; their children, Felicia (Antonio) Gordon and Ebonie (Michael) Zielinski; his grandchildren, Monay, Kiana, Raven, Imani, and Jobias; his 6 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Lee, Larry, Mary, Johnny (McBride) and Brenda (Rudd) as well as numerous extended family and friends.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Versie (June) Moore.

Robert retired after more than 30 years as a truck driver for Waste Management Services. He was a loyal member of the Elk’s Peter H. Clark Lodge #483, the Breakfast Club at 50’s Diner, and he bowled on several teams over the years with the Landmark Bowling League in Peoria. Always the life of the party with an infectious laugh, Robert spent his free time riding his motorcycle, barbecuing, and cheering on his favorite sports teams.

While Robert left us far too soon, the impact he had on his family and those around him will last forever.

At the request of Robert and his family, services will be private.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria.
