

Rodney was born on July 6, 1949 in Peoria, IL to the late Gerald and Georgia (Eppy) Lochbaum. He married Sandra Reese and they had three children. They later divorced.
He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1967 to 1971.
He worked as a Boilermaker for the Local 60 in Morton, IL. He recently received his 40 year pin, having retired in 2004.
Rodney was a black belt in Okinawan Karate. He was an avid fisher and hunter. He also had his pilot's license and would fly small engine planes.
He is survived by his children, Brande (Richie) Shelton, Erik (Amy) Lochbaum, and Aaron (Chrissy) Lochbaum; his grandchildren, Alexander Lochbaum, Cambrea Shelton, Chaden Shelton, and Camden Shelton; his great grandson, Karson Lochbaum; his siblings, Terry (Sharon) Lochbaum, Tinkie Demmin, Tina Lochbaum, and Tammy (Dave) Adams; his niece, Cori Lochbaum; his lifelong friend, George Ray; and many extended family members. A special thank you to his caretaker, Yaylin Molina from Cape Coral, FL.
He is preceded by his parents.
A Funeral Service in honor for Rodney will take place on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at 11:00 am at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. A Visitation will take place the evening before on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Committal will take place at Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
