He was born November 19, 1933 in Karlstad, Minnesota to Oscar and Helen (Moser) Bjerk. He married Joyce V. Andeen on December 26, 1960 in Warren, Minnesota. She passed away January 1, 2021 in Peoria. He is also preceded in death by his parents, one great-grandson, Brennan Bjerk, one sister, Joyce Jacobson, and two brothers: Jack and Terry Bjerk.
Survivors include five children: Nathan (Pamela) Bjerk of Lacon, Sara (Brett) Johnson of Chenoa, Anita (Steven) Booker of Tremont, Ellen (Daniel) Feik of Peoria, Carl Bjerk of Edelstein, eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Roger was a United States Army veteran during the Korean War. Following his time in the military he was a Mechanical Engineer at Caterpillar, Inc for 35 years retiring in 1995.
He last attended Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria.
Funeral services will be Monday, Aug. 3, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at church. Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
Burial with Military Honors will be Tuesday August 4, 2026 at 10 a.m. in Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.
