Roger Raymond Wells

Roger was born August 3, 1949 in Waukegan, Illinois, the son of Raymond W. Wells and Shirley M. Wells (Edwards).

He graduated from Waukegan Township High School in 1967, then went on to attend Bradley Univeristy, earning a degree in Communications in 1972 after discovering that being a math major wasn't all it was cracked up to be.

Roger married Linda K. Dotson on April 24, 1976 at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Peoria, IL, with Fr. Butler officiating. Upon meeting, Roger knew instantly that Linda was the one. They were happily married for over 49 years and in that time welcomed two children, Kristin and Kevin and one granddaughter, Olivia Kay, whom he affectionately called O.K.

He worked as a Broadcast Engineer at WMBD-TV 31 for 50 years and retired in September 2019. He was a member of the IBEW Local #34.

Roger was a Trekkie, an avid NCIS fan, enjoyed playing on the computer or messing with a new gadget and loved the Chicago Cubs. He enjoyed Twizzlers, pretzels, blue cheese, Outback Steak House, and an ice cold beer or an old fashioned.

He was a member of St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church in Peoria, Illinois.

Survived by his wife Linda K. Wells of Germantown Hills, IL; his children Kristin Wells of Peoria, IL and Kevin (Emily) Wells of Washington, IL; granddaughter Olivia Kay; his brother Bruce Wells of Albuquerque, NM and sister Carolyn (Peter) Dorhout of Ames, IA; 5 nieces, 2 nephews, 3 great-nieces, and 7 great-nephews.

Preceding in death are his parents Raymond and Shirley Wells; brother Russell Wells and sisters Cheryl Cluck and Marilyn Wells; nephew Shawn Dotson.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 26, 2025 from 4 to 6 p.m. at St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church, Peoria, IL. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 11 a.m. at St. Michaels and All Angels Anglican Church, Peoria, IL, with Fr. Payton Wieland officiating. Additional visitation will be Saturday one hour prior to the services at the church. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Interment will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens, Peoria Illinois.
