Sharon Lynn Richmond

She was born on January 29, 1939 in Morton, IL to the late Ralph W. and Emma Lynn (Barnes) Huett. She married George E. Richmond on November 13, 1960 in Peoria, IL. They spent 63 years together until his passing on March 31, 2024.

Sharon earned her degree in Registered Nursing with OSF School of Nursing in 1960. She worked at Bellwood Nursing Home for over 30 years, eventually working her way to the Administrator of the facility. She later worked for the Arthritis Foundation as a Nurse Information Specialist. She retired her nursing license in 2022.

She was a member of University United Methodist Church in Peoria, IL. She was also a member of the Peoria Red Hat Society, Morton Knights of Columbus, and the Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post 2.

Sharon loved to crochet and play bingo at Spring Bay American Legion Post 115 and Washington American Legion Post 100. She was also an avid bowler.

Sharon is survived by her children, Ralph "Rocky" (Kellie) Richmond, Timothy Richmond, and Lynn (Ernest) Maison; her grandchildren, Joshua, Nicole (Modesto), Jacob (Christine), Brittany, Brandon, Christine (Jon), Meghan (Madison), Jessica (Jake), Jessica (Nick), Aydin, Alysia, Annette (Eben), and Nicole Elizabeth Lynn (Josh); her great grandchildren, Modesto, Jr., Ella, Easton, Luke, Hudson, Dawson, Raeleigh, Mackenzie, Ezekiel, Emorie Alona Lynn, Elisha, Amarise, and Enoch; her sister, Sandra Cummings; her sister-in-law/friend, Geraldine Corrington; her half brother-in-law, Kenneth Hicks; and her guard dog furbaby, Fritz.

She is preceded by her parents; her husband, George; her brother, Richard "Dickie" Huett; and her daughter-in-law, Sandy Ratzsch.

A Funeral Service in honor of Sharon will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 11:00 am at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria, IL, with a Visitation 1 hour prior. Committal will take place after services at Parkview Cemetery.
