Sharon K Schuh, 83, of 5307 West Farmington Road, Peoria, died at home on July 31, 2025. Born November 23, 1941, in Peoria to George Wineland and Madeline Barbier Wineland, she married Paul L. Schuh on June 18, 1983. He survives.
Also surviving are brother George (Kathy) Wineland, daughter Michelle (Aidan) Gilbert, three sons Clifton (Silvia) Schuh, Coree Schuh, and Clark Schuh, three grandsons Noah Gilbert, Jared Schuh, Clayton Schuh, granddaughter Shelby Schuh, and great-granddaughter Paisley. She was preceded in death by son John (Cheryl) Gilbert.
She was a very proud graduate of Manual High School Class of 1959 and attended ICC and U of I Springfield. She spent time teaching at Lakeview Museum, Peoria Park District, ICC, and worked full-time for the University of Illinois Cooperative Extension Office. She was known as Grandma Sharon to hundreds of children while working and retiring from the South Side Mission as Pre-School Director in The Harrison Homes.
She was a professional crafter and was known as The Art Lady. She was a proud Manual Fan, enjoyed Illinois Basketball and the Chicago Cubs, and spent spare time camping at Evening Star in Havana Illinois.
She was a member of Second Baptist Church, breakfast club member, the South Side Mission Harvest Club, and an election judge for 26 years.
Visitation will be at 10am Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Davidson-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria with memorial services to follow at 11am. Memorial donations can be made to South Side Mission or Second Baptist Church in Peoria.
