Shirley A. Hasten, age 85, of Peoria Heights, passed away Saturday July 14, 2012 at 12:55 p.m. at her residence. She was born Aug. 18, 1926 in Chicago to Earl L. and Alice F. (Amburg) Hensen. She married Neil B. Hasten Oct. 28, 1967 in Washington, IL. He survives along with four children: Jack A. (Sue) Maggio of Peoria, Ralph E. (Mary) Hasten of Washington, Debbie D. Scott of Washington, Brian K. Hasten of East Peoria, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and one sister, Rosalie Wilson of Peoria. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Ed, Earl, Jack, Ron, and two sisters: Alice and Marion. Shirley was a waitress at the Bee Hive in Peoria. In 1952 she went to work for Hiram Walker in Peoria and worked there until its closing in 1981. She was an avid bowler and bowled in leagues in Peoria, IL. and Tucson, AZ. Shirley will always be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, and grandma. Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services at this time.
