Shirley O. Poston

She was born May 9, 1928 in Peoria to Benjamin and Edna (Callear) Neal. She married Homer H. Poston. He survives along with three daughters: Karen “Sue” (Dennis) Price of Bartonville, Kathy R. (Bradley) Deuell of St. Augustine, Fl., Kim R. (Harold) Sherrard of Peoria, one son, Kenneth R. (Beth) Poston of Bartonville, eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, one sister, Lois Clausen of Peoria, one brother, Benjamin (Betty) Neal of Pottstown, and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Frank “Gary” Poston, two step-sisters: Mildred Hughes, Gladys Yaeger, and one step-brother, Guervin Perry.

Shirley and Homer enjoyed many years of traveling and camping in their Winnebago and with the Winnie Poo Club. Shirley will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to thank OSF Hospice, especially Jan, Sharon, Teresa, Kelly, and the volunteers. Also, Kay and family friends Jenny and Lexi who assisted with her care.

Funeral services will be Monday, July 25, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Pastor Ralph Barnett will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
