

She was born October 19, 1916 in Peoria, a daughter of Roy B. and Clara B. Schultz Tamplin.
Surviving are her niece, Pamela (Richard) Ringel of Highland, IN; one nephew, James (Mary) Tamplin of Annapolis, MD; one grand niece, Julie (Andrew) Frankel of Cary; one grandnephew, Michael (Beth) Ringel of Austin, TX; one great-grand niece, Alexis Ringel; and two great-grand nephews, Zachary Ringel and Nicholas Frankel.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Roy (Jacqueline) W. Tamplin.
Shirley first worked as a secretary at the Peoria Journal Star from 1948 to 1959. She then was employed by Caterpillar Inc. retiring in 1976.
She was a life member of the Peoria Central High School Alumni and a former member of Mt. Hawley Country Club.
Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Today, March 5, 2011 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Rev. Garland Criswell will officiate. Entombment will be at a later date in the American Mausoleum in Peoria.
