

He was born on June 4, 1944 in Akim Oda, Ghana to Samual Felicia (Frimpomaa) Mintah. He married Gladys Aryeh on July 15, 1970. She preceded him in death on September 15, 2013 in Peoria.
Also preceding him in death were his parents, one son, Paa Kwesi Mintah, one sister, Beatrice Denkyera Mintah and one brother, Kofi Aseidu Mintah.
Surviving are his five children, Valerie Dede Larson, Gifty (Jens) Christensen, Brian Mintah, Genevieve (Prince) Frimpomah Nkrumah, and Golda (Marus) Denkyera Osei; seven grandchildren, Sheila Daisy Inkoom Larsen, Lois Thelma Owusu Inkoom, Maya Christensen, Melanie Valerie Inkoom Larsen, Alan Christensen, Princess Nana Akua Opokuwaa Nkrumah, Phoebe Queeny Abena Nkrumah, and Solomon Wolf Mintah. Also surviving are four siblings, Joseph Okyere Mintah, Emilia Safa Mintah, Kwami Kwakye Mintah, and Yaw Asante Mintah.
Solomon graduated from Achimota School in Accra, Ghana and then graduated from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology at Kumasi, Ghana with a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. At the age of 72 received his Masters Degree in Data Analytics from the University of Maryland. Solomon worked as an Engineer with Valco in Tema, Ghana rising to the Director of Management Information Systems, until retiring in 2004. He was a member of the Achimota Student Alumni Association, 1962 year group, and attended Our Savior Lutheran Church in Washington, IL. In Ghana he attended the Trinity Lutheran church at community 2, Tema. In his younger years, Solomon enjoyed playing Field Hockey and Soccer, and his love carried over to his later years, where he enjoyed watching both Major League and Premier League Soccer. Solomon also enjoyed playing tennis, golfing, playing chess, swimming, going for walks and computer programming. He was a lifelong learner, who had an infectious smile, was always cheerful, kind, generous, and treated everyone as family.
Funeral service will be in his home country of Ghana at a later date. Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be at Community 9 Cemetery in Tema, Ghana.
