Steven Charles Dooley

He was born October 12, 1947 in Ash Grove, MO to Clyde and Tressie (Bland) Dooley. He married Sherry Schmidgall on July 23, 1966 in Peoria. She survives along with one son, Donny (Shirley) Richards of Bethany, OK, eight grandchildren: Amber Rybolt of Peoria, Abby Rybolt of Peoria, Allie Rybolt of Pekin, Nathan Rybolt of East Peoria, Jordan (Kassi) Richards of Yukon, OK, Brooke (Scott) Bartlow of Edmond, OK, Daniel (Kattie) Wilson of Henderson, NV. Kristin (Travis) Lottman of Bethany, OK, and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Wendy Sue Rybolt Dooley, and six siblings: Clyde Dooley, Doris McKinney, Helen Batson, Doug Dooley, George Dooley, and Randy Dooley.

Steve was a United States Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War.

He first started working as a Newspaper Delivery man, then worked for Peoria State Hospital, then Zeller Mental Health in Peoria, then TCRC, following that he worked for Henry Hill Correction Center then retired from Northwoods Mall as the Operating Engineer. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Bartonville Lions Club where he was past President, Bethel Lutheran Church in Bartonville, and he also took part in Cursillo retreats.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of Steve’s life with military service will be Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.

Entombment will be in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, Parkview Cemetery.
