He was born Jan. 5, 1966 in Rockford, IL to Robert and Gail (Hendrickson) Muir. They survive along with three sisters: Linda (Michael) Muir Finney of New Hope, MN, Christine (Stephen) Muir-Huntress of Raymond, NH, Nancy (Bill) Lamkey of Williamsville, IL, one brother, Brian Muir of Chicago, three nieces: Amy, Abbigail, Annika, one nephew, Kevin, and two great-nieces: Florence and Amelia.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Karen Muir and one nephew, Leigh.
Steven attended Richwoods High School and graduated from Christchurch School in Christchurch, Virginia. He then earned his associate’s degree from Dodge City Community College in Dodge City, Kansas, and later attended Gem City College in Quincy.
He enjoyed working on jewelry, volunteering at the Quincy Public Library, camping, fishing and watching football.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 10, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Burial will be Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 11 a.m. in Woodlawn Cemetery in Creston, IL.
Memorials may be made to the Friends of the Quincy Public Library, or a charity of donor’s choice.
