Steven Smet

Steve graduated from Winola High School in 1986. He went to trade school to become a pipefitter with the Steamfitters Local 353 of Peoria. He married Kelly Johnson on October 25, 1997. He loved to spend time with his family and friends. He enjoyed sports both playing and watching, especially the Chicago Cubs, Bears, and the Fighting Illini. Steve's humor and sarcasm brought joy to those in his life.

Steve is survived by his children Robert Smet (Cassy Walsh) of Boden IL, as well as Collin and Addisyn Smet of Peoria, his granddaughter Lillian Smet, and his twin grandsons lovingly expected this spring. He is also survived by his siblings, John Michael (Melanie) Smet of Eureka IL, Darlene (Jeff) Crummy of Viola IL, Chris Smet (Jackie Lafferty) of Aledo IL, Shelley (Greg) Roth of Moline IL, Patty (Andy) Kongkousonh of Viola. His father John Smet (Lois Walker) of Viola, father-in-law Vernon Johnson of Aledo IL. He was also a brother-in-law to Lara (Jonathan) Swanson and Jami (Scott) Lilly, a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews, as well as his special friend, Dawn Hammond of Seaton, IL.

He is preceded in death by his wife Kelly, mother Daisy, and mother-in-law Donna Johnson.

Visitation will be held at Davison-Fulton Woolsey Wilton Funeral Home at 2408 W Willow Knolls Dr. Peoria IL on Saturday, March 14 from 1pm to 4pm with service to follow.
