Thomas "Tom” W. Corey, passed away on January 1, 2022, at age 84, at his home in Morton, Illinois. His battle with medical issues in recent years showed his true spirit in dealing with life's struggles head on and with a smile. Despite his pain he stayed strong till the end.
Tom was married to Judith Springston on August 12, 1961, and had four sons John, Jeff, Greg (Jennifer), and Mark (Nicole).
He was born on October 31, 1937, the eldest son of John and Kathryn Corey. In addition to his wife and sons, Tom is survived by his siblings, Patty Rush, Ray (Linda) Corey, Jim (Rita) Corey and Kathy (Denny) LaHood. He has five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Virginia and Mary Jane.
Tom was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a member of the steamfitter's Local 353 for 65 years. Tom enjoyed getting together with family and friends, photography, hunting, traveling, camping and most of all fishing. He will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, January 7, 2022 at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home, 2408 W. Willow Knolls Dr. in Peoria.
Private services will be held.
