He was born on January 26, 1933 in Peoria to Robert C. and Clara Ione (Feuchter) Kromphardt. He married Shirley Kay Wright on December 23, 1955 in Peoria. She preceded him in death on September 26, 2015 in Peoria.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert “Bobby” and James “Jim” Kromphardt.
Tom is survived by his four sons, Bradley (Susan) Kromphardt of Pekin; Kirk (Eva) Kromphardt of Peoria, Gregg Kromphardt of Peoria and Tom R. (fiancée Kim) Kromphardt of Peoria; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Tom worked for Heights Finance Corporation for 30 years in management. He then worked in Business Development traveling to offices in 5 states. He also worked for the US Government during the closing of the Savings & Loan Companies during the housing troubled times. He attended Bradley University and was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha.
Tom served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict (1953-1955)-2nd Division and was a member of the Peoria Shriners-Kiltie Band, Grand View Masonic Lodge #1112 Peoria Heights and the American Legion Post #2 in Peoria.
Tom loved to travel and he and Shirley’s favorite places to travel were Myrtle Beach, SC, Sunset Beach, NC and Hawaii. He was a fan of the Cubs, Bears and Bradley Basketball.
He was a life member of the Madison Avenue United Methodist Church.
Private family services will be held. Rev. Jan Johnson will officiate.
Burial with military honors will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
