He was born Dec. 9, 1938 in Albany, NY to J. Kenneth and Alice (Wright) Wyard. He married Sheila Groeper on April 27, 1974 in Princeville, IL. She survives along with one son, Todd Wyard of Flagstaff, AZ, two granddaughters, Claudette and Kaelyn Wyard of Flagstaff, and one sister, Jane Harmon of San Diego, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Kathy Wyard, and one brother, Jim Wyard.
Tom was a United States Navy veteran serving during the 1950’s. He worked first for Hancock Insurance in Peoria then later the Hawk Agency in Peoria, retiring in 1995. After his retirement he assisted with the development and opening of Weaver Ridge Golf Club, and was affectionately known as the “Sheriff”.
He was a member of the Princeville United Methodist Church.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. A celebration of Tom’s life will be Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
