Velma leaves to cherish her sweet memories, her siblings; Wima Edmonds, Charles (Ruby) Edmonds, Diane Little and Florence Edmonds all of Peoria, IL. Additionally, she leaves to celebrate her life a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, special friend, Vicky Headd and caregiver, Victoria Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Todd Edmonds; and brothers, Jewell Edmonds, Emerald Edmonds, Michael Edmonds, and Lois Butler.
Velma was employed as a Surgical Technician at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center for over 17 years. She was later employed as a Material Purchasing Analyst at Caterpillar Tractor Co. from which she then retired.
Velma received Christ at an early age and was a dedicated member of New Cornerstone Baptist Church. She enjoyed serving on the usher board, singing and listening to gospel songs, crossword puzzles, watching and going to basketball games.
Velma's homegoing will be celebrated at noon on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at New Cornerstone Baptist Church with Dr. Mark McConnell officiating. Visitation will be held from 11AM to noon prior to the start of service. Entombment will follow at American Mausoleum.
