

She was born August 26, 1920 in Peoria, a daughter of Sherman and Dora (Roehnelt) DeVault. Her mother passed away when Velma was very young and later her father married Clara Wageman. She became a dedicated step-mother to Velma and her older sister.
She married Lloyd Schlosser on June 7, 1975 in Herrin, IL and became a full-time housewife. Velma was a best friend, companion and wife to her husband for over 37 years. .
Velma was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, sister Mary Ellen, her brother Gus, one grandchild Kimberly and one step-son Stephen.
She liked to be around people and loved music and dancing. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, and was a die-heard Chicago Cubs fan. She was a long time member of the Peoria Motorcycle Club Auxiliary.
She is survived by three children, Barbara (Jeff) Weyeneth of Peoria, Virginia (Dave) Jennings of East Peoria, and Robert (Kimberly) Stanley of Bartonville; one step-daughter Angela (Ken) Mrazek of Chillicothe; eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Velma worked in the Peoria area much of her life, including Methodist Hospital for many years.
Funeral Services will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday Evening august 2, 2012 at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton in Peoria. Visitation will be two hours prior to services.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
