She was born May 21, 1921 in Peoria the daughter of John and Verna Miller Adams. She married Clifford H Carter on July 4, 1941. He preceded her in death on December 19, 1993.
Verna is survived by one daughter, Barbara (Cy-Ronnie) Kelly of Peoria; four sons, Ronald (Marla) Carter of Pekin, Don (Lavonia) Carter of Cairo, Georgia, John ( Edna) Carter of Normal, and Robert Carter of East Peoria; 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Thomas C., two brothers, and two sisters.
Verna was a lifetime member of St Ann Catholic Church.
Services will be at 10 am Thursday, July 7, 2016 at St Ann Catholic Church. Father Donald Roszkowski will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel.
Burial will be in St Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Peoria.
