Verna Melling Dreher

Peoria – Verna Dreher, 89, of Peoria, IL passed away Wednesday February 1, 2012 at Rosewood Care Center, Peoria, IL, with her family by her side. Verna was born July 8, 1922 in Peoria, IL to John and Phoebe (Higgins) Melling. She married Ray Otto Dreher on November 2, 1947 in Pekin, IL.

Surviving is her son Derald (Bonnie) Dreher of Peoria, IL, her daughter Cheryl (Larry) Schoepke of Nashville, TN, six grandchildren: Neal Dreher of Peoria, IL, Kyle Dreher of Princeville, IL, Damon (Jamie) Schoepke of Nashville, TN, Leah (Cameron) Berry of Chicago, IL, Hanna Schoepke of Nashville, TN, and Kara Schoepke of Nashville, TN, and one great grandson Bennett Dreher of Princeville, IL. Verna was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Verna was a homemaker who loved to spend time with her family and friends. She was a member of the H.E.A. in Peoria and attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Peoria.

Services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday February 4, 2012 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Lutheran Cemetery.
