

Vernon was born on September 19, 1975, in Peoria, the son of Vernon & Gaye (Mc Creary) Johnson and was the joy of their life. He married Ashley Loving in 2012.
Monty attended Manual and Nortre Dame High School; he loved playing football, bowling, swimming, watching movies, and traveling. Monty never knew a stranger, and he immensely loved being with his children and his family. He was able to fulfill his childhood dream of being an over the road truck driver, last working for O’Brien Steel before taking ill.
Vernon “Monty” is survived by his wife; his parents; four daughters, Jasmine Robinson, Briana Johnson, Keamber Harden, and Taylor Loving; five sons, Cedric Smith, of Boston MA, Terry (Liz) Little, Jordan Robinson, Vernon Johnson III and Ian Loving all of Peoria; one granddaughter, Jordyn; previous wife, Stephanie Johnson, and a loving host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.
Vernon “Monty” was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at Greater City of Refuge Cathedral of Worship where Bishop Timothy E. Criss will officiate. Visitation will be at one hour prior to services also at the church.
Entombment will be held in Parkview Cemetery, Chapel of Peace Mausoleum following services. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
