Vickie was born on December 27, 1947 to Fred and Edith Grant. In 1968 she married Donald Carron with whom she started her family. Together, they raised their daughters until his untimely passing in 1977 after a battle with cancer. She was also proceeded in death by both parents, one brother, Dorance Grant, and one sister, Dolores Burnside.
Vickie worked for many years at her brothers family restaurant and bar, Grant’s Inn. She could be found helping in the kitchen, serving meals and just keeping busy. Most importantly during that time, many family memories were made and lasting friendships were built.
Vickie lived a simple life and was happiest surrounded by the comforts of her home. She enjoyed cooking , cleaning and baking. She loved running errands and could often be found chatting with those along the way. She enjoyed yard work , especially mowing. In later years, she was very proud of her new riding mower and supervising her grandson as he mowed the lawn.
Vickie had a gentle heart for animals, especially dogs. She shared a special bond with her faithful dog Chuck, whose companionship brought her much happiness until he passed a few years ago.
Perhaps her greatest joy was her family. She was a strong and steady presence in the lives of her grandchildren, offering love, guidance, encouragement and countless cherished memories. Whether through family gatherings, home-cooked meals, or simply being there when she was needed, she left an enduring mark in their lives that will never be forgotten.
