

Virginia was born in Peoria to Nickolas and Bessie Vagenas in 1915, where she grew up with two brothers, Jim and Gus. In 1941 she married Charles Millan who preceded her in death in 1989 in Peoria. They shared trips together to Greece and looked forward to their annual visits to San Diego to spend the Christmas holidays with their son and family.
She is preceded in death by two brothers.
She is survived by her son Ted (Georgia) Millan; two grandchildren, T.C. (Kirstin) Millan, and Julie (Charlie) Bennett; one great grandson, William Bennett; and two nieces, Nikia and Vickie and their families.
Virginia worked for Caterpillar for forty seven years before retirement. She cherished the many friendships she made at work and her church. Virginia’s kindness, generosity and thoughtfulness toward others will be remembered and missed by all who knew her. In her last few years she became a resident of Manor Court, where she was looked after by the staff and Hospice Compassus. Thank you to all her caretakers and a special thank you to Arlan Maier.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 9, 2010 at All Saints Greek Orthodox Church 1812 N. Prospect Rd. in Peoria. Visitation and Trisegion will take place at 6 p.m. tonight at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria and continue until 7 p.m. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
