Born on July 22, 1922 in Washington Township, MI to Charles L. and Jennie L. (Phillips) Branton. She married Harold A. Rickett in 1940 in Michigan and he preceded her in death in 1960 in Carsonville, MI. She later married Roy Amey on October 5, 1974 in Detroit, Michigan. He preceded her in death in Dec of 1993 in Deckerville, MI. Her parents, one son, Charles Rickett, one brother, Lewis Rickett, one sister, Nina Dinkelaker and one granddaughter, Jonna Lee Rickett also preceded her in death.
Surviving are one son, Albert (Gerry) Rickett of Lakewood, CO, and her daughter-in-law, Marlene Rickett of Peoria. Also surviving is one brother, Willis Branton of Huntsville, AL, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Wanda worked at Yale Rubber Manufacturing for many years until retiring in 1974. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Peoria, a former member of the First Presbyterian Church in Deckerville, MI and a Lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 273 in Sandusky, MI.
A funeral will be held on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 11:00 am at the United Presbyterian Church in Peoria, with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Dr. Randal Saxon will officiate. a second funeral will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 11:00 am at Pomeroy Funeral Home in Carsonville, MI, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Washington Cemetery in Carsonville, MI.
