He was born January 20, 1950 in Peoria, Illinois the son of Wesley John and Shirley Evelyn Swadinsky Wainwright.
Wes was raised of the Lutheran faith as a young man. He attended Peoria High School, Peoria, Illinois. He then served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. Wes and his wife Mary owned and operated Wainwright Trim for many years living in Arizona and Oregon before making his home in rural Monroe County, Missouri near Monroe City. He was a member of the Monroe City Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4240 of Monroe City, Missouri. He enjoyed hunting, trapping and most of all woodworking.
He married Mary Susan Davis August 22, 1974. She survives.
Also surviving, one son Christopher Wainscott (Tracy) Pekin, Illinois; one daughter, Kimberly Sue Wainwright of Australia; four grandsons, Cody Hendricks, Bloomington, Illinois, Ronnie Wainscott, Christopher Wainscott and Brendan Wesley Wainscott all of Pekin, Illinois; two brothers, Frank Wainwright (Chris) of Quincy, Illinois and Dave Wainwright of Monroe City, Missouri; two sisters, Helen Petersen (Bob) of Newark, Missouri and Joy Benja (Ray) of Quincy, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Shelia Williams and one infant brother Michael Wainwright.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 6:00 pm Sunday, November 18, 2018 at the Garner Funeral Home, Monroe City, Missouri. Funeral services will be held in Peoria, Illinois at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 11:00 AM with a visitation beginning at 9:00 AM until time of services. Graveside services will be held following the funeral service at the Lutheran Cemetery, Peoria, Illinois.
