Peoria, IL – William Brown Jr., 88, of Peoria, passed away at 9:28 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at his home with his family by his side. He was born Dec. 23, 1924 in Shreveport, LA to William and Eva Brown Sr. They preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by daughter, Sandra; 1 infant son; 2 sisters; and 4 brothers. Surviving are 5 children, Paula of Los Angeles, CA, William III of Dallas, TX, Byron Sr. of Peoria, Mike Sr. of Peoria, Annette of Indianapolis, IN; 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother Jack of Shreveport, LA, 2 sisters, Laverne of Shreveport, LA, Lucille of Las Vegas, NV; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. William was a WWII Navy Veteran serving in Guadalcanal. He worked as a photographer for the U.S. Department of Agriculture for over 40 years, retiring from the Agricultural Lab in Peoria in 1985. He was an avid bowler, and was formerly active in Peoria area leagues. Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2013 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Chapel. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria with Military Honors. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
