

He was born on January 24, 1942 in Peoria, IL to William Howard and Margaret (Sill) Stephens. He married Barbara Davis, on August 18, 1973 in Peoria, IL. She survives.
Also surviving are his son, Tim Overturf of Canton; one grandson, Derek Overturf of Kansas City, KS; one great granddaughter, Australia Overturf; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Jean Johnson and Susan Davis; and two brothers, Don Stephens and Bob Stephens.
Bill served in the U.S. Army and then worked as a Welder for Caterpillar, Inc for 32 years before retiring in 2001. He also worked as courier for the Peoria Journal Star during this time and after retirement, Bill drove a school bus for District 150 for several years. Bill was an avid bowler, who bowled on several Peoria area leagues. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking and finding new recipes online to try. Bill and his wife, Barbara, enjoyed traveling, going on cruises and wintering in Florida.
Cremation will be accorded and a celebration of life will be at a later date. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
