Jeanette Collins Chapman

Jeanette accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and savior at a early age. She was baptized and was a member of East Mount Zion Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio. She attended Cleveland Public schools until the family relocated to Cleveland Heights where she attended and graduated from Shaw High School. Jeanette was accepted by Tri C University where she excelled in her studies. She met and married her beloved husband James Lee Chapman and they relocated to San Diego, California where James served in the U.S Army.

Jeanette excelled in all that she did. She began working as a medical coder at Children’s Hospital San Diego and earned a promotion to Patient access manager until her retirement to care for her husband. She obtained a work from home position that allowed her to care for James and continue her career as well. In a short while she was hired as a manager for Adapt Health, a national medical supply corporation.

Jeanette was an interesting, and keen witted lady that was always the life of the party. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, gardening, visiting the casino and watching Saturday morning cartoons with a bowl of cereal in hand. Most of all she treasured spending quality time with her sons. She truly loved people and everyone who knew her loved her. She will be sorely missed, but not forgotten.

On August 30, 2023 Jeanette was called home to be with God in Heaven. She leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved sons, Andre Collins, James Collins, Christen Chapman; brother, Leonard Mays Jr. (Annie); Sister Geri Mays- Elamin (Ahmad); grandchildren; Keyera Collins, Keyandre Collins, Jamir Peak, Christopher Peak, Great-Grandchildren; Keyon Collins, K’lynn Collins, Kayci Collins, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Funeral Service for Jeanette will be held Friday, October 20, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Miller Jones Mortuary and Crematory, 1835 N. Perris Blvd, Perris, California 92571. Following the service will be a graveside service from 1:00 PM at Miller Jones Menifee Memorial Park and Mortuary, 26770 Murrieta Rd., Menifee, California 92585.
