Mary Kathy Bowers was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, niece, wife and friend. She will be remembered for her big heart, her kindness, her strong personality, and most of all, for how deeply she loved her family.
Kathy was the kind of person who could make a friend almost anywhere she went. She was friendly, outgoing, talkative, and funny, and she could easily strike up a conversation with just about anyone. Whether she had known you for years or had just met you, talking came naturally to her. She had a way of making connections with people simply by being herself.
Kathy took great pride in her work as a Supervision Aide, a job she truly enjoyed. She especially loved being around the children and getting to watch so many of them grow up over the years. Seeing their smiling faces, watching their personalities develop, and knowing she had been a small part of their lives brought her so much happiness. She was proud of what she did, and her work held a special place in her heart.
More than anything, Kathy loved her family. She loved her children with all her heart and was always someone they could turn to. She was there to listen when they needed to talk, give advice when they needed it, and simply be there when they needed their mom. She taught her children that no one is perfect and that what matters is learning from life, continuing to grow, and always trying to do better.
Being a grandmother was one of Kathy’s greatest joys. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She loved caring for them, laughing with them, watching them grow, and simply being their grandma. Her grandchildren knew how much “Grandma Kathy” or “Nani” loved them, and the memories they made with her will stay with them forever.
Family was always important to Kathy. She loved being a sister and loved her brothers dearly. She also treasured being a niece, they all meant so much to her. The people she loved were an important part of her life.
Kathy also had a deep and lasting love for her husband. Through everything life brought their way, that love remained in her heart throughout the years. He was someone she loved deeply and someone who would always hold a special place in her heart.
Kathy’s faith in God was an important part of her life. While it is incredibly difficult to understand why she had to leave so soon, her family finds comfort in knowing that she is now home with the Lord. There is also comfort in knowing that she has been reunited in Heaven with her beautiful mother and her brothers, whom she loved and missed so much. We can only imagine the beautiful reunion they shared when she arrived.
Kathy left this world much sooner than anyone was ready for, but the love she gave us will never leave. She will live on through her children and grandchildren, through the family she loved, and through all of the memories we were blessed to make with her. There will always be pieces of Kathy in each of us.
Kathy is survived by her children, Darlene Saucedo, Katrina Duenas, and Raymond Moreno; her beloved grandchildren, Sonny Jr., Adam, Janella, Jacob, Joshua, Noah, and Caleb; her brothers, Michael Reyes and Robert Gonzalez; her uncle, Javier Herrera; and her husband, Lester Bowers, along with many other family members and friends who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her beautiful mother, Natalia, and her brothers, Alfredo and Raymond.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Never forgotten.
