

He is survived by his wife of 26 years Sara Colmery. His sons Tom Cates and Robert E. Cates. Daughter in law Lisa Colmery. His grandchildren Daniel Cates, Ryan Cates, Levi Pinkerton, Logan Pinkerton, Lainey Pinkerton, Torrey Colmery and Trace Colmery. His sisters Millie Carlson, Pat Bailey and Catherine Lambert.
He attended school in Perris and Riverside with the Seventh Day Adventist church school. Bob served his country in the Army, Army reserves and Navy reserves.
One of Bob’s greatest milestones was to build a home on his ranch. This achievement was one example of his determination and tenacity. He shared this by inspiring and helping others in his valley for 50 years.
He enjoyed time with his family horse camping and traveling in his RV. He also loved racing his tractors. One of his bucket list items was to visit all the big rodeos. He made it to the Calgary Stampede, The Pendleton Round Up, Cheyenne Frontier Days and of course the NFR.
The love and devotion Bob had for his family was beyond measure and will be greatly missed and deeply remembered.
